A Little Imperfect, Still Beautiful!

Our Homegrown Seconds are every bit as beautiful as our original yarn, just with a few extra quirks!

These two colourways have been labelled as seconds due to a few small pigtail plies throughout the yarn. These little imperfections are purely cosmetic and don’t take away from the beauty of the wool or its ability to knit into gorgeous garments and accessories.

We’re offering these special skeins at a discounted price because we believe every beautiful skein deserves to be loved and made into something wonderful.

Alberta Grown, Alberta Made

A special collaboration between Grocery Girls and Bryncelyn Farms, Homegrown celebrates the beauty of locally grown Alberta wool and the craftsmanship behind every skein.

Sourced from Bryncelyn Farms, a portion of the fibre was hand-dyed by us before being expertly carded and spun at Alberta’s historic Custom Woolen Mills. The result is a beautifully blended, heathered yarn with rich depth, subtle colour variations, and a character all its own.

Crafted on traditional milling equipment that’s over 100 years old, Homegrown carries a little piece of history in every skein. You may occasionally come across a knot, a natural part of the milling process and a small reminder of the yarn’s journey from fleece to finished wool. Simply cut out any knots and wet felt the ends of this natural wool back together.

From farm to finished skein, Homegrown is a celebration of local fibre, thoughtful craftsmanship, and the beauty of wool grown and made right here in Alberta.

Small batch. Alberta grown. Alberta made.

Beautifully unique, perfectly imperfect, and ready to become something special.
