Day 1 – Hola and Welcome to Barcelona

Your adventure begins in vibrant Barcelona. After arriving and transferring to our beautiful 4-Star Seventy Hotel, we’ll gather to meet one another and settle in.

We begin with a guided visit to the breathtaking La Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí’s architectural masterpiece that has been under construction since 1882. The soaring columns and luminous stained glass feel almost knitted in light and stone — an inspiring first glimpse into Spanish artistry.

That evening, we celebrate the start of our journey with a Sangria Masterclass and Welcome Dinner. New friendships form quickly over shared stitches and Spanish flavors.

Overnight: Barcelona

Day 2 – Yarn, Crochet & Gaudí by Night

After breakfast, you’ll have some time to explore Barcelona at your own pace before we visit Lalanalú yarn shop — the talented hosts behind the beloved Barcelona Knits Festival — to collect our festival wristbands.

Next, we enjoy an exclusive crochet workshop at FeelPuntbcn studio. Inspired by Barcelona’s organic shapes and vibrant colors, this hands-on session celebrates texture and technique in a truly local setting.

In the evening, we experience something magical: a nocturnal guided visit to Casa Milà (La Pedrera). With a rooftop light and sound experience and a glass of cava in hand, Gaudí’s architecture feels alive under the night sky.

Overnight: Barcelona

Day 3 – Barcelona Knits Festival

Today we immerse ourselves fully in the Barcelona Knits Festival, set right along the waterfront overlooking the Balearic Sea.

This is a day of inspiration — workshops, marketplace browsing, meeting designers, discovering indie dyers, and connecting with knitters from around the world. The festival energy is electric and creative.

We encourage guests to book festival classes early once they’re released, as they fill quickly.

Overnight: Barcelona

Day 4 – Festival Day Two & Embroidery Workshop

After a relaxed breakfast, we return to the festival for more shopping, learning, and socializing.

Later in the day, we gather for an exclusive knitwear embroidery class with Nuria Picos. Bring along a favorite knit — this workshop is about adding personal artistry to something you love. It’s creative, joyful, and incredibly satisfying.

Dinner with special guest Joji Locatelli

Overnight: Barcelona

Day 5 – Alpacas & Flamenco

We travel north into the Pyrenees to visit Alpaques del Pertegàs, a family-run alpaca farm dedicated to ethical and sustainable fiber production.

We’ll meet the alpacas, learn about fiber processing, and take part in a dye workshop — each guest will dye their own skein to take home as a beautiful memory of Spain.

That evening, we experience authentic flamenco at El Tablao de Carmen, complete with traditional tapas. Passionate music, powerful dance, and Spanish cuisine make for an unforgettable night.

Overnight: Barcelona

Day 6 – Lleida & Zaragoza

Today we depart Barcelona and journey inland toward Zaragoza.

Our first stop is Lleida, where we visit La Seu Vella Cathedral perched high above the countryside. The panoramic views over the Segrià region are breathtaking.

Upon arrival in Zaragoza, we explore the La Seo Tapestry Museum, home to remarkable 15th-century Flemish tapestries — a stunning reminder of Europe’s long textile history.

Dinner is included at our hotel this evening.

Overnight: Zaragoza

Day 7 – The Road to Madrid

After breakfast, we continue toward Madrid, stopping in Medinaceli to admire the Roman triumphal arch — the only triple arch still preserved in Spain.

We arrive in Madrid in the afternoon and check into our centrally located hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to explore, relax, or knit in a cozy café before dinner at the hotel.

Overnight: Madrid

Day 8 – Discovering Madrid

This morning, we enjoy a guided walking tour of Spain’s elegant capital city.

We conclude at the magnificent Royal Palace of Madrid, exploring its opulent rooms, artwork, and centuries of royal history.

The remainder of the afternoon is free for museum visits, shopping, café hopping, or simply soaking up Madrid’s vibrant energy.

Overnight: Madrid

Day 9 – WoolDreamers & Don Quixote Country

Today we head into the La Mancha region for an exclusive visit to WoolDreamers.

This guided tour provides a complete behind-the-scenes look at artisan yarn production — from fiber to finished skein — and includes a special gift.

After lunch, we visit Castillo de Belmonte, a fairytale-like medieval castle, followed by panoramic views of the iconic windmills of Mota del Cuervo across the La Mancha plains — the landscape that inspired Don Quixote.

Overnight: Madrid

Day 10 – Yarn, Fashion & Paella Celebration

We begin with a visit to Miss Kits, one of Madrid’s fabulous yarn shops.

Next, we explore the Museo del Traje, where more than 30,000 pieces trace the history of fashion from the 18th century to today — a fascinating perspective on textile evolution.

That evening, we celebrate our final night together with a Paella Passion cooking class. Guided by a professional chef, we prepare traditional Spanish dishes while enjoying cava and wine. It’s joyful, interactive, and the perfect farewell dinner.

Overnight: Madrid

Day 11 – Adiós, Spain

After breakfast, private transfers bring us to Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport for our journey home.

Suitcases may be heavier with yarn… but hearts will be even fuller.

We cannot wait to experience Spain with you.

With love,
Jodi & Tracie 🧶💛
